Brenner Group Recognizes All Employees During Appreciation Week
Holland MI – June 15, 2009 – Brenner marks its annual Employee Appreciation Week by kicking off a 5-day event at their facility in Detroit (New Boston). “This is a great week for us to get out in the field to see all of our employees and their families across the state,” said Walt Majcher, Brenner’s COO. “Because we operate 24/7, it can be quite a challenge dispatching everyone to the same location. Offering this event at different facilities gives all of our employee’s the opportunity to participate”.
This is the third annual Brenner Employee Appreciation week with events scheduled in Detroit, Muskegon, Lansing, Niles, and at the corporate headquarters in Holland on Friday. The Safety Department and Management provide barbeque luncheons and employee appreciation gifts to everyone who attends. “This is really a great week to tell our employees that we truly recognize their efforts in making Brenner a great company in which to work,” said Majcher.
Bowl-A-Thon Raises Funds for Local Kids with MD
Holland MI – May 2, 2009 – CITGO Petroleum Corporation (Ferrysburg, Michigan) along with the Muscular Dystrophy Association hosted their 2nd Annual Bowl-A-Thon charity fundraiser today to raise money for the children and families who struggle living with MD.
CITGO is the MDA’s largest national sponsor raising over $100 million during their 23-year partnership.
Brenner and CITGO have a long-term standing business relationship. When presented with this opportunity, Brenner took on the challenge when 15 employees along with family and friends donated their time and effort to raise pledge dollars and participate in the event hosted at StarLite Bowling Lanes in Grand Haven, Michigan.
“I wanted to do a bowl-a-thon that was a family event where everyone could participate”, said Chad Snouffer, CITGO’s Assistant Terminal Manager. “With a golf outing, the kids with MD simply can’t play golf. Bowling is fun for everyone—the kids and their families”.
This one-day event raised over $8500.00 which doubled from the funds raised in 2008. Snouffer said, “It’s obvious this event is growing. We look forward to doing this again next year. Brenner brought in the largest group of people to participate. We all feel this is such a great cause”.

The scholarship is typically awarded to an individual who demonstrates continuing educational interests in mechanics or in an industry aligned with Brenner Oil.
Aloha is Driver’s New Word
Holland MI – May 16, 2009 – At the Brenner Group everyone’s goal is to safely protect themselves, as well as company and private property, the public in general and the communities in which we all live and work.
“We hire the best of the best in terms of our employees and our driving staff. We want people to come to work and safely perform their jobs while keeping our customers happy and then return safely to their families at the end of their day. Safety always comes first,” said Don Willcutt, Brenner’s Director of Corporate Safety & Compliance.
To recognize their fleet employees, a 9-day all-expense-paid Hawaiian trip was offered to drivers who drove safely for a two-year period with no accidents, incidents or tickets. All drivers who met this requirement were placed in a random drawing.
James MacFarlane, Brenner Transport driver from Flint, Michigan was the winner. He and his wife Maria just returned from their Hawaiian adventure staying on the islands of Oahu and Kauai in ocean-front suites.
“We were able to travel around the islands, visit Pearl Harbor, see the pineapple plantations, watch the surfers on North Shore, go to a luau and learn all about the Hawaiian culture. It was a spectacular trip that we will never forget,” said MacFarlane.
Brenner Group anticipates the announcement of their next Drive Safe Incentive Trip in the near future.
